Duwamish Head 2020
Zowie, what an absolute ROC (Range of Conditions)! Wind - no wind; lump-to-smooth-to lump; sun-to-overcast and back; fast to slow to fast ... you get the idea. Talk about having to shift gears!! Right / left / spinnaker / not / ebb / flood / back eddy / whatever - 'twas a day where whatever you did could have either been terrific or turned out poorly. Take a cue from the event's name: "Duwamish", (pre-tribal dialect anyway), is actually an ancient direct translation of the now-obscure Lithuanian guttural utterance meaning WTF (Weather That's Fickle). Enjoy these photos, at least as much as you may very well have persevered in these Duwamish conditions!
