NWISA High School Team Racing Championship

Holy Schamoley, what a great glimpse into the future of our sport! As he drove me around the race course, Skip was constantly having flashbacks to his intercollegiate team racing days (way back in the 70's), and remarking what a measurable advance to youth sailing this high school championship event represented! 3-minute starting sequences (Skip's all-time favorite), actually choosing to slow down (and engage the opponent) to advance your team's combination (a team racing norm), a super-interesting course for getting off more starts back-to-back yet still challenge the three-boat teams, you name it, this spectacle was ever energizing. We simply loved covering this event, and would certainly love to do more - enjoy these photos!
